My name is Libby Bell, and I am a watercolour artist living on a beautiful farm in South Africa, and mother to three beautiful boys. I love to paint exquisitely detailed florals, birds and old buildings. I am also drawn to graphic design, in particular using my illustrations to create beautiful stationery and products like candles and tea towels.

I have strong family ties to the UK, where most of my family is based and where my father comes from. A love of the British countryside and a childhood of exploring antique shops with my parents, who are in the furniture business, has led to my appreciation of all things old and steeped in rich history, embellished with swirling gold acanthus leaves, adorned with decorative painted birds or covered in a thick layer of dust that reveals all kinds of magic when blown away.

I am based in the Lowveld in Mpumalanga, South Africa, which is just a 30-minute drive from Kruger National Park. We are surrounded by the most unreal natural beauty in this area: the animal, bird and insect life are rich and inspire me daily. The peace and quiet of farm life allow for high levels of concentration and hours and hours of careful and intricate drawing and painting.
